PTI Chairman Imran Khan appeared before the Islamabad Police’s joint investigation team (JIT) on August 20, 2018, to answer allegations that he threatened an additional sessions judge during a public rally in Islamabad.

On August 20, Imran Khan was charged with terrorism after making divisive comments against the sessions judge and the senior police officer.

Despite having been given a third appearance summons by the JIT looking into the terrorist accusations brought against him, the PTI leader has previously been dodging the JIT.

On September 12, ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan was informed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has not yet joined the investigation.

The ATC asked the prosecution and Khan’s attorney to determine where and when to commence the investigation during the hearings and prolonged the PTI leader’s provisional bail until September 20.

Imran Khan recorded his statement before the JIT at the SSP office in Islamabad.

PTI Chief Imran Khan lashed out at the coalition government for failing to address Pakistan’s economic woes, saying that the country was following the Sri Lanka’s footsteps.

Imran Khan condemned the government’s partisan behaviour during the floods and its treatment of party donors. He proposed that free and fair elections would be the best way to end the economic crisis.

He said, “They are trying to crash my party.”

He insisted that the only subject on which they could negotiate with the administration was the holding of free and fair elections.

Imran said that the matter has become a farce in front of the entire world in response to a question about his appearance before the JIT.

“I knew the JIT was a joke, but I appeared before it,” he said.
