Role of teacher in the development of society

Teacher plays an important role in building of society. Teacher teach good manners and ethics to student. Teachers are nation builders. Teachers are role model for students. In modern teaching teacher play the role of facilitator. Teacher guide the student in every field of life. Teacher teach different topics with different methods. For example, role play, lecture method, storytelling method. A teacher is the backbone of the society because he/she imparts knowledge and education and builds up the future generation. He shapes and carves out the students, who are the builder of tomorrow and are the future hopes of our nation.

Teachers are role models to students, offer guidance and dedication and gives direction to their students.”Teacher encourages minds to think, hands to create, and heart to love.”Teaching is a profession of prophets. The teacher is a person who is always ready to work for his/her students. The Prophet Muhammad’s learning –teaching methods, that were extracted from his education activities, with them he tried to form a new world view on people and build a new society. The importance and nobility of this profession is evident from a tradition of holy prophet (peace be upon him) in which he says “I have been sent to you as a teacher.”Not only from the worldly point of view but also from religious point of view, teaching is a noble and respected profession. “A good teacher is like a candle-it consumes itself to light the way for others.”Teaching as a profession requires a great courage and moral strength, because it is not sound so far as financial side is concerned.

“If a teacher has a good relationship with students, then students will more readily accept the rules and procedures and the disciplinary actions that follow their violations.” positive and supportive relationships between students and teacher ultimately increases an intelligence of belonging and motivate students to willing take part in different classroom activities. Teachers provide the power of education to today’s youth there by giving them the possibility for a better future. They simplify the complex and make abstract concepts accessible to students. The teacher must be responsible for the results of student learning activities through teaching and learning interaction. Thus,the role of the teacher in the implementation of character education. School is to provide example, inspirers, motivators, and evaluators. Today, the teacher’s role has gone beyond teaching. Their role now involves counseling students, mentoring students and mentoring students and teaching them how to use and apply knowledge to their lives.

Development refers to changes which are more complex and harder to measure. Development involves an increase in abilities and skills acquired over a series of small steps like talking, walking, expressing feelings, relating with other people. Holistic development refers to child s development in all areas. Emotional, cognitive, affective, psychomotor development is included in holistic development. There are four domains of development physical development, language development, and cognitive development, social and emotional development.

Physical development refer to changes in the physical appearance of the body, growth, muscle development and motor skill development. Two types of motor skill development are: Gross motor skill development, fine motor skills development.

Language development refers to children’s growing ability to talk (express) and understand words and sentences. Child produces different sounds .then they begin to say one or two words. Gradually, they start to combine two words. By three years old children speak in simple sentences. By the time they are five years old, their sentences become longer and more detailed. Cognitive development refer to children‘s growing ability to learn, solve problems and express their needs, thoughts, Ideas and feelings. Language is a way for children express their needs, thoughts, ideas and feelings. Social and emotional development refer to children’s growing ability to establish positive relationships with others, understand their own and others feelings and emotions, and express and manage their emotions.

All of the domains of development are interrelated. Every child is unique and differs from others, for example,in their physical appearance and growth ,personality and interests. However, they also have similar patterns or periods for development which happens in progression, for example, talking, walking, managing feeling and interacting with others. Teacher work hard on individual’s development and individual contribute positively in development of society.

Teacher emphasis the holistic development of children .Teacher is the builder of student character, professional development, and ethical values. Teacher plays a very important role in development of society because he/she do a lot of efforts for holistic development of his/her student. Respect of teacher is the key which opens the door of success, prosperity because respect of teacher is the prerequisite for success, prosperity and progress.
