Despite the leaked audio going viral, Khalilur Rehman Qamar says feminists are to blame.
An audio recording of renowned playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar and a married woman was said to have been leaked on social media last week. In the recording, Qamar and the woman were overheard discussing a meeting, but they were unable to do so because of the woman’s husband.
The leaked audio made quite a stir on social media where many accused Qamar of ‘having an affair with a married woman.’ Now, the renowned author is responding to the issue.
The playwright said, ‘There’s one matter I wish to make clear. I will not be addressing the present controversy again. I do not offer excuses. When I previously had issues with feminists, I learned there were serious problems that needed to be addressed. Thus, they had two choices.’
“Firstly, they could have discussed the issues with me, but they were unable to converse in a civil manner. When there are no discussions, the other option is to abuse. Because they are a paid group and will do anything to keep their jobs, they will employ such tactics.”
He said that people had tried to insult him by ‘planting’ programmes on the TV. It had affected him and his family since he was never involved in controversies. He had been warned previously by many people not to call people on their sim cards because phone calls might be leaked, but he didn’t care, and he still doesn’t.
Qamar said that this alleged audio was released before as well. “I thought this was a new one, but this was an old leaked audio call that had been posted online some three years ago. It’s just getting more attention now.”

Qamar shared on the call, “I don’t remember if I am speaking to a makeup artist, they have ten and one issues. I’m surprised how this has been given attention. What really needs to be investigated is why is there a need to shed light on this. But make no mistake: I won’t change my ways and I won’t spare you. I will keep on speaking against you.”
Qamar agrees that the voice in the leaked audio is his, but he does not remember who else was on the call. ‘Of course, it is my voice,’ he said. ‘I don’t remember talking to so many people; I have a lot of affection for them. “Make all the calls viral if you want to, but don’t pair me with a married woman. I have so many women coming to me – married and unmarried. Who is this married woman who is still yet to reach me?”
