It was the fine day of 10 November 1998, when Australia toured Pakistan last time. In the last played series between the two teams, the former whitewashed the host in 1998.
February 27 is the biggest day for the cricket of Pakistan as the Australian 1st class international cricket team landed in Pakistan for cricket series after a quarter-century. It is as well the 1st tour of the Australian cricket team after the 2009 attacks on the Sri Lankan team that resulted in the banning of international cricket in Pakistan. After that international cricket in Pakistan deteriorated badly, its stadiums became vacant, forcing Pakistan to play all its home ground matches in Dubai. It became a dream for any international cricket team to come and play in Pakistan.
Pakistan will host Australia with 3 ODI’s, 3 tests, and one T20 from 4th March to April 6, 2022. The matches are scheduled to be played at Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi. The players will remain in Quarantine for 24 hours before going for the practice session. They will be given special protocol par to the president, PM of Pakistan. Such security protocol is given to any foreign delegate.
This is an excellent achievement of PCB to convince the Australian Cricket Board for the tour to Pakistan. All the credit goes to the management of PCB and the security forces of Pakistan who again restore a peaceful environment in Pakistan, a peaceful environment for the world-class cricket team to visit Pakistan.
The successful completion of PSL and arrival of the Australian team in Pakistan is an example for New Zealand who decided to leave Pakistan a few minutes before the start of the match due to international lobby against Pakistan. It is also a lesson to the enemy of Pakistan who is not only against Pakistan but also against the cricket of Pakistan. After the successful tour of Australia, more teams will tour Pakistan and this will result in the complete restoration of international cricket in Pakistan.
English cricket team is also ready to tour Pakistan after Australia. That event is scheduled to be played between September to December 2022. Pakistan will also host the world champions trophy in 2025. It is the first giant event that will be held in Pakistan after 30 years. Pakistan jointly hosted the Cricket world cup in 1996 with Sri Lanka and India and now it will host the world champions trophy in 2025. This will not only bring international cricket to Pakistan but also create a peaceful environment in Pakistan for other activities. We will see investors coming to Pakistan, we will see our playgrounds crowded.
