Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior leader Ishaq Dar will return to Pakistan next week, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said Saturday.
He will be able to discuss the strategy with the government’s economic team when they return to Karachi, he said.
He further said that PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan before the next general elections.
An Accountability Court in Islamabad yesterday suspended the arrest warrants of former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
On December 10, 2017, the same court declared Dar, the main accused, a proclaimed offender for failing to attend court proceedings in a corruption case.
Muhammad Bashir, an accountability judge, heard a petition asking for the reversal of warrants for the arrest of a political party leader who is in London. He said Dar should not be arrested when he returns home.
Dar wanted to hand himself in to the court.
When the PML-N leader arrives in Pakistan, he will go straight to the courtroom, his lawyer Qazi Misbah said during the hearing.
The accountability court accepted the PML-N leader’s request and suspended his arrest warrants until October 7, 2017. Judge Bashir has also barred the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting Dar.
